Seeking Information About The Black Cats crossing the Agger

I’m writing a history of the last two days of war -11/11 April 45 – in my new hometown Lohmar, Germany, and the 13th Armored Division crossing the Agger river, starting from two wooden piers still in the water since 1945. Any information or photos are welcome and appreciated!

Looking for information on my grandfather Joseph Tedesco

He was a tank gunner from New Orleans, LA in the 13 armored division. His picture is listed at the end of the tank units under the title, "Some Former Members of the Battalion".

Does this mean he was transferred to another battalion? Any information that you can provide would be helpful. Joe is still alive and living in Slidell, Louisiana. He lost most of his war memorabilia during Hurricane Katrina, so it would great if someone could provide anything about some of the missions or just about any of the guys in the unit.

Thanks for your help, you can reach me at steve@promozation.com

Seeking information on James R Wilson and Henry Rubenstein

father is John J. Day; he served in the 498th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 13th Armored Division in WWII. He would like to trace two of his army mates he hasn’t seen since his time in the service. If you would be able to offer any suggestions about how he might trace them, we would be grateful. My dad befriended a James R. Wilson, who was from Texas, while they were in training together in Texas. My dad isn’t sure if Wilson was in the 498th, or even in the 13th Division. The year would have been late 1943 or 1944.

The other man he would like to trace is Henry Rubenstein, who was from New York. He was in the 498th. My dad relates the story of how he and Henry were walking on patrol ahead of their unit near the war’s end. A large body of German soldiers came marching at them, intending to surrender, yet all of them still had their weapons. My dad and Henry merely pointed their rifles in the direction they wanted the Germans to go, and so the Germans complied, and that was that

Seeking information on my father Robert W. Wagner

My father Robert W. Wagner was a tank mechanic in the 13th Armored Division during WWII. I believe that he was a member of the 46th Tank Battalion. I am looking for anyone who may

My Dad never talked much about his time in the war, but near the end of his life (10/31/2007)
he did talk about one action he was involved in and I would like more info on it if possible. He was with the pontoon bridge group and they would send 3 to 4 guys across to put in anchors with eyebolts and pull ropes thru them that would lead to cables then the pontoons and so forth…. anyway the raft of guys he was with were all killed but him and he was able to complete the mission and bring one or two of their bodies back with him…. I think he was wounded in the shoulder and may have gotten a bronze star, but there should have been an action report and followup… anyway if you can help I would greatly appreciate it… thank you and god bless.
