2014 13 th Armored Division Reunion

 

September 10-14 in Columbus/Ft Benning, GA!

Join other members of the Black Cat family for camaraderie and fun at the 2014 13 th Armored reunion!! The reunion will be at the beautiful DoubleTree by Hilton in Columbus, Georgia!

Tours on Thursday and Friday will provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for an interactive, behind-the-scenes visit to Ft. Benning, the US Army’s Armored and Infantry headquarters following the Armor HQ move from Ft Knox in 2010. See active training and be briefed about the newest equipment and technology, use tank simulators to "drive" tanks and "shoot" at the enemy, visit the new $100 million, state-of-the-art National Infantry Museum (including Armor Gallery), WWII Street (restored WWII-era buildings including Patton’s office at Ft Benning), and other very interesting activities.

All activities are arranged to be appropriate for seniors.

The US Army is very excited to host our WWII veterans and their families!! Please try to attend!!

Honor Flight

Share Updated: 3/27 7:31 pm They are ordinary men turned extraordinary in their fight for our country during World War II, and now a group of 20 local veterans will be honored and flown to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial to the sacrifices made in WWII.

The "Honor Flight," as it’s called, is paid for by local funding. The goal is to take as many World War II vets back to the nation’s capitol as possible.

Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Keith D. Bratton is looking forward to being on the first Honor Flight from Kern County to Washington D.C. on May 25 th . He’s excited at the prospect of spending time with other vets who served more than 60 years ago.

Seven years ago, he remarried after his wife died. Now, at the age of 94 he leads a quiet, but active life. Bratton says he still enjoys a lot of the good things in life. “ Read. We have always like to travel, we have taken cruises, gone to Hawaii, Mexico , he said.
